Biography and Education
Danielle DeFauw is an associate professor of reading and language arts at the College of Education, Health, and Human Services, University of Michigan-Dearborn. She received her Ph.D. in Reading Education from Oakland University in 2010. She obtained both her Master of Education in Literacy K-12 Specialization and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan-Flint.
Her research interests focus on writing and flipped learning. She has conducted both qualitative and quantitative research on writing instruction, including teacher-writers and using authentic writing tasks with elementary students to support writing motivation.
